After
a contract has been awarded we will arrange a kick off meeting.
At this meeting we will discuss the scope of the project,
your requirements and expectations. We will plan the project
to your time-scales, leaving contingencies to ensure that
even if variations are issued we can meet your clients deadlines.
Together
we will discuss the technical scope of the project, time
scales, identify key deliverables. Milestone and drop dead
dates. Throughout this meeting the focus shall be on understanding
your needs and scheduling the project to meet your clients
expectations.
Shortly
after the kick off meeting a project schedule (generated
from Microsoft Project) and a project scope document will
be issued for your approval. The schedule will detail dates
information will be issued from yourselves to G&L, and
dates G&L will issue design information for your approval.
The project scope document will be based upon your purchase
order and decisions made at the kick off meeting. The document
will detail the information that you will issue to G&L,
how this information will be used as the basis for the design
and the extent of the design documentation that will be
issued to yourselves for approval.
Throughout
the project regular progress reports will be issued, keeping
you fully informed of our progress and any issues that may
effect the schedule and how we can resolve such issues.
The progress report will be an honest summary, focused upon
delivering the project to schedule. It is expected that
you will want to verify the accuracy of our reports and
your inspectors will be welcome to visit our offices.
Project
Management also covers the issuing of design documentation.
These documents will include system configuration, database,
controller, logic, applications, safety system and graphic
designs. Examples of the content of some of these documents
can be found under engineering
and graphics
on this site.
